INTRODUCTION
Who Are We?
We are a local branch of the *
Cats Protection National Charity situated south of London, England, in Croydon town. Please note that we can only deal with issues for Croydon and surrounding areas. If you live outside this area please find a local branch that can help you by checking the main
HQ local branch listing.
Cats Protection is a registered charity in England which has over 260 branches and 29 Adoption Centres country wide . Each branch is supported by
unpaid volunteers who devote themselves to the welfare of cats and kittens who find themselves homeless and helpless . (The cats not the volunteers)
Our Aims
We have three main aims..
- Our first aim is to rescue stray cats and kittens, rehabilitate them and then rehome if possible. All cats are treated for health problems and neutered. The rescued cat lives with a temporary 'foster mum' until a permanent home can be found.
- Our second aim is to encourage neutering where the cat is not required for breeding.
- Our third aim is to inform the public on care of felines. Brochures are available from Headquarters.
Our Branch
- The Croydon Branch was established in 1981. Croydon town itself is situated south of the river Thames , about 10 miles from London.
- We have over 400 members and in any one year we may rescue and rehome over 600 cats and kittens.
- We also operate a Lost and Found Register and work to help reunite owners with their lost cats.
- At any one time we may have between 50-250 cats and kittens in our care all awaiting permanent, secure and loving homes. This obviously places a heavy burden upon our temporary foster homes so if you can offer a permanent home , don't delay, call today !
- Please mention 'Croydon Branch Website' when calling.
